When we pray, we ask God to act! …to intrude Himself into minds and wills. (John Piper)

I will soon be in Allende, a new-to-our-teams town 1 hour south of Monterrey, Mexico working with 2 new churches (Pastor Ricardo serves them both) so nothing is familiar except the Monterrey airport!  Pastor Eraclio from Monterrey will be assisting Ricardo in his first-ever hosting of a medical brigade… he is very experienced and a precious friend.
When there are many unknowns, even we “returnee’s” must put our trust in our King, not in familiar “horses and chariots” …although sometimes we may ask Holy Spirit to use them!  But we can't put our trust in them. God is the one who goes before us and fights for us in heavenly battles that always go on above our medical-evangelism teams.  It’s always a good way to live and serve, depending on grace and God’s presence, provision, prayers of you Saints, given each day like manna.
And I just learned yesterday that 2 women had to drop off the team!  I’d had specific roles in mind for them both, and I needed to repack what I was UPSing each teammate for his or her checked bags as well… sigh.
So now I must trust even more in God’s sovereignty with 4 less hands & feet to share the Good News.  Pray that I might model that to my team!
Thank you/bless you for being part of a vital “home-team” covering our “traveling teams’, asking God to act!!!!!

Prayer Calendar - Allende, Mexico - July 16-23, 2016
James 5:16b The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Sat. July 16, 2016 Please pray for safe travel, smooth flights & connections, arrival of all luggage & medical supplies.  Pray for favor getting through customs in Monterrey... ‘green lights’ as we push the buttons, or ‘blind eyes’ of any challenging customs agents.  We’ll then travel 1 hour south to Allende for our initial ‘wedge’ into this town.   We’ll serve alongside 2 churches pastored by one man, Ricardo Ramirez.  Pastor Eraclio Conde from Monterrey, an old and dear friend, will assist him.  Pray for our MTW liaison, Dr Charlie Davidson, & for our non-medical servants: Sylvia, Martha, Susan & Nohemi.

Sun. July 17 Please pray for team unity, as in verses below.  We worship with a new congregation today.  In the afternoon we’ll organize clinic supplies & do spiritual/practical  ‘orientations’ as we prepare to share the Gospel & provide medical care during the week.  Pray for Pastors Eraclio & Ricardo.
May the God Who gives endurance and encouragement give [us] a spirit of unity among [our]selves as [we] follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and one mouth [we] may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.                Romans 15:5-6

Mon. July 18 Please pray for our 1st day in clinic… smooth organization; we’d be an encouragement to Ricardo and congregations; we’d see those whom Holy Spirit calls to our clinic through God’s eyes; we’d make correct diagnoses & give compassionate treatment.  Pray for our translators: accurate translation & God’s work in their hearts.   Pray for MDs Sun-Young, Bo & Frank.

Tues. July 19 Please pray for boldness in Christ on our 2nd day of clinic… to see His miracles as we pray & seek healing for our patients; for His protection against ever-present spiritual warfare; for Him to keep back the darkness that blinds souls to the truth of the Gospel; for grace to respond to anything the He brings our way.  Pray that our focus will be on lifting up Christ & that we’d not wane with tiredness.  Pray for our pre-med students: Caleb & Trevan.
The greatest impact any of us can ever have on the missionary movement is to saturate it
with prayer and lead other Christians to pray with us.  David Bryant

Wed. July 20 Please pray that God will work through our ministry today to make Christ known to all who come to clinic.  Pray for rich team fellowship at morning devotions/worship & evening debrief/prayer times.  Pray for our nurses: Pat, Linda, Stella & me.  Pray for any national doctors or dentist who may be able to serve with us.

Thurs. July 21 Please pray that we’d be used by God to bring increased credibility & visibility to the churches; for renewed work in their communities; that we’d have the joy of being ‘midwives’ at births of new believers as Holy Spirit moves in patients’ hearts.  Pray that any team conflicts be lovingly resolved with humility & compassion.  Pray for Adanna, CNA-phlebotomist, & our nursing student: Bianca.
For this [we] toil, striving with all the energy He mightily inspires within [us]. Colossians 1:29

Fri. July 22 Please pray for our final ½ day of clinic; for relationships made during the week to be deepened in Christ; that we will encourage our missionaries.  Pray for re-distributing of remaining meds & our clinic set-up’s for U.S.-returning checked bags tomorrow; for travel mercies back to Monterrey; for team refreshment in the evening at a favorite restaurant  Pier 17.  Pray for Pastor Ricardo & for our siblings-in-Christ in Allende who will follow up on contacts made this week.

Sat. July 23 Please pray for safe travel as we head back to 7 home states & for us to be lifetime-challenged by what God has shown us this past week.  Pray that God will open doors of witness in any presentations to friends & home congregations &/or through our newsletters so that Christ alone would be glorified!  Pray that God will continue to use what He’s taught us this past week (& the many weeks of preparations) to grow us deeper in our walk with Him.  Pray for our hearts, & those of people with whom we will share at home, to remain burdened for spiritual needs in Mexico.  Pray for revival, as only the Gospel changes lives, cities & countries!
If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.
If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides,
so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11

Thank you, and may God bless each of you with measures of ever-increasing faith.
In Jesus’ precious and powerful name.  Amen.
